Britain had the highest excess death toll in Europe after the first wave, ONS study reveals

Office for National Statistics data showed the UK's mortality rate was 6.7 per cent above average up to the week ending June 26. It was followed by Spain (5.9 per cent) and Belgium (3.5 per cent).
